The Dickinson Press

Today I enter unfamiliar territory with my first blog of our new “Our Voices Blog Site”. The mission of The Dickinson Press and community newspapers for as long as newspapers have been was to monitor their community and report on the happenings on the pages of our newspaper, and lately upload it on to our website. Our reporters are at all the government meetings, sporting events and of course at breaking news happenings and are advertising professionals are meeting with area merchants assisting them in marketing their products and services then after gathering the information we edit and package it to fit in an easy readable format in your morning newspaper. The process happens a new every day all to our goal of being your information source for Southwestern North Dakota. Despite our best efforts there is still valuable information that because of time and space we can’t publish. The new “Area Voices” on our home page allows our readers to help us in gathering and sharing  unlimited information about our area by reader generated blogs. There are no limits to the number of blogs that can be posted, and odds are that others share interests and will comment or write their own blog. This is a new major undertaking by The Press to create a true portal of our community on the World Wide Web. My blog will focus on what is new at the press and also some commentary or one man’s opinion of the happenings of life here on the Western Edge. Should you like to start your own blog you can leave a comment or call me at 456-1201 and I will see if we can help get your own blog started. Some ideas but not exclusive for blogs might be hobbies, youth sports, politics, church, clubs or volunteer opportunities. I invite you to join me blogging, because each of us has something to share.
